In Spring of 2021, Elena Coholan joined ASG as a communications specialist. She has diverse experience in the municipal sector, the tourism industry and not for profits. She began her career in tourism, creating photography and video content to promote one of Niagara’s largest attractions. After graduation, Elena moved into the municipal sector, where she built essential skills in writing for various platforms, managing social media plans and creating/updating websites.
Over the last six years Elena has volunteered her time with various organizations and non-profit events, from the Paul Menton Centre for Disabilities where she worked with students with physical and learning disabilities to keep them on track with daily schoolwork, to lending her knowledge and skills to Farmwork to Feed Canada, an initiative started to support Canadian farmers during the COVID pandemic.
Elena has a long-standing passion for sports, stemming from her time as a rower and hockey player. Elena was a three-time medal recipient from the CSSRA National Regatta, where her team competed against crews from around the world. During this time, she learned the importance of teamwork and dedication, and has brought that same sense of commitment and time management to her work at ASG.
Elena holds a Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies from Carleton University and a graduate certificate in Public Relations from Niagara College, where she graduated on the President’s Honour Roll.
