ST. CATHARINES – Armstrong Strategy Group (ASG) is welcoming a veteran fundraiser and master of ceremonies to its growing fundraising and events team.
Don Stewart, a career fundraising professional, adds his 30 years in the sector to a seasoned team with a combined 125+ years of experience in philanthropy. Beyond three decades at Appleby College, Stewart is well known as “Don the Auctioneer,” serving as MC and auctioneer at charitable events across North America.
“It’s exciting to join a team as talented as the one at ASG,” says Stewart. “A strategically-focused special event can have a powerful impact in advancing an organization’s mission, fundraising and stewardship goals. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience in that field to the team.”

Stewart, who earned his CFRE designation during his time at Appleby, has delivered on everything from annual fund management and prospect identification to major gift solicitation, donor stewardship and major special events. Through his auctioneering role, he’s helped to raise between 10 and 15 million dollars annually (Pre-Covid). He also provides consultation and guidance to help clients execute special events and exceed fundraising and friendraising goals.
Don holds a Bachelor of Physical Education from McMaster University, a Bachelor of Education at the University of Toronto and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Brock University.
